What do you do when you see a red light up ahead?
Speed up to get the pole position for the green

I figure the molten rubber reduces friction allowing the engine to come to a true idle thus saving gas. Plus it's kinda fun.

We have cameras at most major intersections here now....has cut down a lot on the T-bones at these intersections. Rearenders have increased somewhat, or so I read, but at least they are less lethal for the most part. I just wish they gave real tickets for those that get caught going thru on red with the cameras...but no points off your license and only a slap on the wrist out of the pocket.

I know this angers a few lead footed drivers out there but if they knew how much better my gas mileage is over the dealer posted mpg... they might consider it too!

Then either the light turns green before I get there (so I don't need to stop) or it is still red when I get there and I stop but I saved a little gas by "coasting" to the light.

If there is a no U-turns allowed sign before I make the U, then I'll pull into the driveway and go through that way. There's just no telling when the light will turn green and I'm not going to sit and wait 5 minutes for it either...
