I coast, hoping the light turns green by the time I arrive at the intersection.

Slam on the brakes and attempt to pull a full 360 before I hit the line. I figure the molten rubber reduces friction allowing the engine to come to a true idle thus saving gas. Plus it's kinda fun.

Slow down the most efficient way....and pray the idiot behind me that is determinded to make the light (on yellow or even red)does not rearend me.
We have cameras at most major intersections here now....has cut down a lot on the T-bones at these intersections. Rearenders have increased somewhat, or so I read, but at least they are less lethal for the most part.
I just wish they gave **real** tickets for those that get caught going thru on red with the cameras...but no points off your license and only a slap on the wrist out of the pocket.

I always time my travel to get optimum gas mileage...bringing speed up to and just above the posted speed limit ... taking out of gear and foot off the accelerator... watching ahead for lights and giving a little gas to maintain speed and if the light ahead is red I just let the car coast to it in hopes it changes to green by the time I get there... I know this angers a few lead footed drivers out there but if they knew how much better my gas mileage is over the dealer posted mpg... they might consider it too!

Let off the gas, downshift, hope to be able to coast down slow enough for the light to turn green before I have to completely stop.

Let up on the gas. Then either the light turns green before I get there (so I don't need to stop) or it is still red when I get there and I stop but I saved a little gas by "coasting" to the light.

If It's 3 in the morning and no one is out, I'll make a right turn, a u-turn, then another right turn and keep going. If there is a no U-turns allowed sign before I make the U, then I'll pull into the driveway and go through that way. There's just no telling when the light will turn green and I'm not going to sit and wait 5 minutes for it either...

I am not old enough to drive, but my parents usually let off the gas to give time for the light to turn green (unless the light is on a slope and we are going down to it- eg the light at Grand River Avenue and Park Lake Road in East Lansing, MI)

Speed on and run thru the red light like I just stole the car. Actually I let off the gas and coast since I'm not in a rush to stop and wait for the green light.
